Commercial Appeal Qoute

I am on the faith panel with the Commercial Appeal. The editor David Waters, (don’t you love his last name) asked us to share a favorite quote. Here is the one I chose:

I have a quote on my mirror by MLK that says,  “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
This quote is a daily reminder that in order to persevere, even though we face struggles in life, fighting battles of injustice, facing rejection or hardships, we should move forward anyway. When dreams have been put on hold or setbacks make us want to give up, we inch our way forward to our goals. Because life’s accomplishments are rarely achieved dramatically with much fanfare, but incrementally, by the inertia we create by simply and faithfully putting one foot in front of the other.
